I practice at the Hove Hypnotherapy Centre with my
wife, Jennie
From an early age I became interested in motivation and self-development having
discovered self-hypnosis techniques which helped me to become a non-smoker (I
used to have a 30-a-day habit!). Gradually as I became more absorbed by the
ideas and possibilities for personal growth and change, in all our lives, I
undertook more study.
In 1992-3 I trained and qualified with N-SHAP (National School
of Hypnosis and Advanced Psychotherapy) then went on to become a Hypnotherapist
full time. My qualifications also, subsequently, include NLP Practitioner and
both General and Substance Misuse Counselling. I am also an Accredited Member
of the National Council of Hypnotherapy.

In full time Private Practice I offer clients help to make
changes in relevant areas of their lives. Whilst I am particularly
interested in issues around (lack of) confidence, self esteem/worth, and self
respect; depression/low motivation, stress/anxiety, panic attacks, phobias and
unwanted habits such as smoking, alcohol/drug problems, overweight/eating
problems, and sexual problems; I also work with clients on many other issues
(See List).
Clients also come because they want to work on Personal Growth, Goal
Setting and Realising Goals, Sports Improvement, Presentation Skills and other
areas of Self Improvement.
(is wonderful!)
In most cases clients are taught simple self-hypnosis techniques during their
session(s). This is a wonderful and empowering life-skill and resource
for you to take away with you and use in all areas of
your life. It is now widely used (sometimes under a different heading) at top
levels in sport, the arts and business; indeed in any area of life where people
desire to excel.
It can be daunting phoning round to attempt to find a hypnotherapist
who is not only right for you, but
will help you make the positive changes or outcomes you wish for your 'self'.
My pledge to you, in this regard, is as follows -
Whilst the majority of clients I see simply phone and make an appointment
(after a short chat on the phone), some quite naturally prefer to have an
initial, free and without obligation, face to face
assessment. You will not be asked to make any commitment at
this assessment, but rather given all the information you may need and then,
later, choose to make an appointment.
Many clients choose to make an appointment at this assessment stage anyway.
I will endeavour to ensure you have all the information you need to
make an informed decision, about committing to a course of
therapy. Sometimes, at this stage, clients are unsure, or don't know, what to
ask about. This is quite understandable so I will, again, endeavour to cover
all aspects at this important, initial meeting (or telephone conversation).
Very occasionally clients coming for the assessment ask to bring a partner or
spouse along with them. This is in order. It is important that you feel
entirely comfortable prior to embarking on your agreed therapy.
As a qualified Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner -
I am committed to providing an experience of therapy which is both
positive and beneficial, in a caring and professional environment. In such an
atmosphere I find clients are able to freely make realistic and empowering life
changes and outcomes.
I am bound by a strict Code of Regulations and Ethics required by both the
Central Register of Hypnotherapy and the National Council for Hypnotherapy. As
such I am also required to carry full insurance. I also undertake regular
training courses and supervision of my therapy work. I am committed to Equal
Opportunities.
